Canine is not moving

#1 Post by HIMgurl »

Hi guys,

My upper left canine is has rotated perfectly but its not moving to close the extraction gap. The right side is almost closed! Its been over 12 weeks now and my ortho keeps saying it will move. The space feels the same during flossing, like pre-braces!

My adjustment is tomorrow morning. Can a elastic band move the tooth? I'm bring this up tomorrow and suggestions?

Thanks!!
I have just completed my treatment!!

hi,
I had a gaps on both sides between my canine and the tooth next two my front teeth(forgot their names) my left side moved but my right never seem to move to me but my ortho said otherwise. I wore a closing spring on my left side and a spring and an elastic on my right side to help close it. Ask about closing springs and elastics and see what your ortho says. Good luck! Oh and not to scare u but springs hurt but they worked according to my ortho.

Hi, thanks. I will ask about those. The pain would be worth it, the tooth just needs to move!

Fret not, most of the time it takes a while. It was probably 9 months to a year after exposure that mine really started to move. My estimated time in braces was 30 to 32 months. Ended up being 49 months due to a stubborn canine. But it was all worth it in the end.
