Hi Guys. I'm 27 and had my quad helix expander installed five days ago. Some of my teeth were pretty tender the first few days, and chewing was difficult. Most of the pain has subsided and it's a lot easier to eat harder foods now. Other than this slight tooth sensitivity, I don't feel any pain. I was told I would probably be sore in my cheeks and nose area but so far I have not had this at all. Is this normal? Will it take a couple weeks for the pain to travel up my face? I just want to make sure the expander is working. My next appointment is eight weeks away. Thanks!
I can't give a professional opinion on the topic but having no pain doesn't mean there is no movement, I had a quad in for 7 months (got it off last friday) and I rarely had any pain and it definately did it's job for me. I had more pain from my tongue rubbing on the coils than anything else.
