When in powerchain stage...

#1 Post by dimplez23 »

I am wondering if when the ortho puts on a powerchain does it mean that the straightening of the teeth is done? I have some concern because i will be getting powerchains in 2 weeks and some of my teeth have yet to completely straighten out. If someone knows the usual process please let me know...thanks in advance

No, it just means the orthodontist sees some space that he would like to close up. Teeth will still straighten out with a powerchain on.

Ok I was a little concerned that this was the end of the straightening process. Yes, I have four premolar gaps that need to be closed so maybe thats what they will be working on. Thanks jaswi

I got a powerchain at an SOS appointment for something else. I was told that my original treatment plan did not include powerchains, so this came as a total surprise!

Powerchains help close gaps, at least that is what they have done in my case. I don't know if my teeth are totally straight yet, but I know my bite still needs some work. My bottom teeth look a lot better now that the powerchain has been on for about 7weeks or so - much straighter.

I got powerchains at my first adjustment and had them throughout most of my treatment, they closed up my gaps rather quickly! Go powerchains!
