Just a few observations. Btw, I have clear uppers and still have some time before my lowers go in. Have to get a lower incisor extraction first.
- The clear ligs do get STAINED..you won't notice it immediately but they stain over time. I could only tell when the ligs were replaced after the first adjustment. The new ones looks so clean and clear!
- I have learnt how to eat no-no foods. So far, I've eaten pop-corn, nuts and also pizza crust w/o breaking a bracket
- I never found the need for ortho wax until after my first adjustment. Now, the brackets scrape my cheeks all the time and it hurts like a mother. And ortho wax is my new best friend!
- I have become less and less picky about what food I eat. I've overcome my two BIGGEST fears - staining of ligs and breakage of the brackets. Frankly, i don't really care about staining ligs anymore because they'll stain anyway.
- I have noticed that the more you brush eat every meal, the less you need flossing. I brush after every meal now and before going to bed, use a fluoride rinse twice a day, use floss and also waterpik. I think my mouth is a good condition - I'll find out from my hygienist soon.
- I can see my movement in my crooked teeth! I'll upload pics but easily this has been the most gratifying moment of my short braced life..
- Lastly, I've gained more confidence about talking about my braces. Initially, I was a bit diffident to talk about them but now I talk about it openly to pretty much anybody. The net net is nobody really cares so why should you?
Sorry for the long post..
After about 1 month of getting braced..
