Mind the gap.

#1 Post by muppet »

Hello,

I have not posted for a while I guess I have got so used to my brace that I have forgotten about it. :D

During my last adjustment my ortho put me in "my final wire" It is very industrial and hurt like hell for a just over a week. I could hardly bear to tickle my teeth with a toothbrush let alone eat or floss etc.

Anyway he said that on my next visit we would work on closing those gaps. Oh how excited I have been looking forward to my next visit. I have four gaps to close and the top ones (both 4's extracted) are particularly large ugly gaps.

I was so focused on gap closing I forgot to ask how they would be closed. It's 3 weeks now till my adjustment and I am begining to wonder what to expect. Will I get elastics??

Anyone's experience of gap closing would be great. I am 6 months in and although I have had my fair share of discomfort, pain and shredded ulcerated mouth I do not appear to have had much obvious movement other than straightening a couple of bottom crooked teeth. I long for the day when the protusion is corrected

Sorry for the long post
