Question for those with one lateral incisor missing

#1 Post by Super Soo »

Hi all

Just wondering whether anybody has a lateral incisor missing and if so are you getting/have you got an implant in its place or simply closing the gap?

I opted to close the gap, which would obviously make my smile uneven. I've gone through so many different parts of treatment since being braced 2 years ago including small screws in my top gumline to pull my midline back to the middle to even things out a bit. My ortho is going to shave the cuspid to make things seem more symmetrical towards the end of my treatment.

I'd be especially interested in seeing anyone's teeth after having their braces removed and opting not to have an implant? So if this applies to you then point me in the direction of your braces story on here!

I too am missing one lateral incisor, and had everything pulled in to close the gap during my first time in braces as a kid.(ended up with some relapse as an adult so some space closing then too) You really cannot even notice a difference unless you look closely and should end up with a gorgeous smile!

I do not have any pics in my story at the moment, but can get some if you'd like.

Thanks Becky

It'd be great to see a pic if you can get round to uploading one when you get a mo!

Yeah I am definitely looking forward to having a great smile still, I can now after just over 2 years start seeing a positive difference and that they'll look fab! Hopefully not much longer now!

I think Tom Cruise had a missing lateral too before he got veneers?!!!
