Had the dreaded ol braces dream the other night and boy was it a doozy. Dreamt that we had come back from vacation and the wife wanted to go out for eats since we had just come back and wern't settled in yet. My top wire had split in two and when I slipped the broken halve out my cheekes caved in and my brackets had broken in two. My bottoms were in tack but my tops were a bloody mess! What a dream. Good thing I knew it was a dream cause the wife was pokking me in the ribs at 3.00 in the mourning wondering what I was laughing about!

What makes me laugh was I knew it was a dream at yet I was still counsious enough and sleepy enough to know the difference and still dream at the same time! Didn't think I would ever have a braces dream but sure enough look what happened! Guess I should cut down on having a full belly of ice cream before bed time eh?

I had a dream I got into a fight with my roommate and in one swift move she reached up, grabbed ahold of the archwire between my front two brackets, and yanked as hard as she could. Then, on the floor, was my ENTIRE top set of braces... archwire, brackets and a few teeth still attached. There was just a lot of blood and it was awful! This was before I ever got the braces on.
Guess I had some anxiety, huh? LOL

Hm this makes me remember a dream I had last week. Somehow I got an extra row of teeth... I can't remember exactly but it was a little freaky...

My dream or should I call it a nightmare

: Last night.
It was the day of an orthodontist appointment for me at the new orthodontist. I was told that the orthodontist was a young lady. Well, It was quite the opposite. The orthodontist was a child predator. He was an old man (reminded me of the show To Catch a Predator). Anyways, My mom and dad went to the appointment and the person at the front desk put me in a moving chair after a 5 minute wait (I saw a kid that looked all beat up and his mouth was bleeding. The mom asked if the kid got beat up again. I got all nervous and told my perents how I didn't want to go to the orthodontist) and the chair sent me to the consultation room. The chair magically tilted and the orthodontist looked at my teeth. Here were some of his comments:
Oooohhh very pretty teeth. Those teeth are almost there, except for a few things.
They told my parents that I would need to get debanded because the orthodontist uses this strange system and didn't understand whatever was in my mouth.
The guy even told my parents that they would do it today. But, first they would give me and my parents a tour of the treatment area. It was scary!! So scary, I couldn't describe it. I was very skeptical and when my parents said yes, I jumped from the chair into my dad's arms and started to cry because the treatment also involved surgery. My parents asked about the Invisalign because they saw it on a bulletin board outside the office. The doctor did not like that idea because I was too young.
The doctor let me and my parents talk about if we should go forward with this treatment and my parents decided "no". Thank goodness.
Thank goodness this was a dream, eh?

I always have dreams where I look in the mirror and just start peeling my brackets off, except I rip all of my teeth out with the brackets but really don't seem to mind.
Also, I have had a couple dreams that I'm back to my pre braces teeth and everyone I see asks why my teeth are so crooked and where my braces went. I think its one of the few times I was glad to wake up and feel my mouth full of metal! I don't like them, but I would surely miss them if they weren't here : )
I have a few friends who have gotten braces off (are in their late 20's) still wear their retainers every night, and say that if they forget to put in their retainer, they have a dream that all their teeth are falling out! I guess we are in for the long haul.

Oh man, I STILL have braces and teeth dreams!
I always dream that my teeth go back to being crooked, but way, way worse than they were to start. I'm talkin' like, teeth in the middle of my mouth where my tongue belongs messed up. I also have dreamed that my husband's little sister (who has naturally perfect teeth) has wonky teeth all of a sudden.... guess that's not very nice, lol!

My dreams are usually about my teeth falling out or my brackets falling off

Dang, that just reminded me of a dream that I used to have ALL the time when I had my expander retainer: I had a huge wad of gum in my mouth and no matter how many times I took it out, there was always MORE! Hmm, wonder if that will come back when I'm in my post-braces retainer

Ya know, it's funny I come upon this thread today. Many of you know I had a bad motorcycle accident many years ago and broke my jaw in two places, and then after surgery......my mouth was wired shut.
Well my dream, or should I say dreams, which have been happening alot.......have been that my TMJ/D has gotten so bad, and it really has gotten worse the last few weeks, and my ortho wants to wired my jaws shut again so that the sweeling and pain can subside some. DM told me that in the beginning, my TMJ/D would get worse before it got better, as my case is much more severe than most.
Now the craziest thing is that my dream consists of me going in for a adjustment, and him asking me if I could handle having my jaws wired shut again, that my TMJ/D is slowing my treatment time down alot and this should bring it back up to speed.
Now I have steadily been gaining weight for the last 5 or so years, and I kinda think this would be a good thing. I lost alot of weight when they were wired before. Only draw back is............the liquid diet.........OMG!!!I hated it.
