Whitening toothpaste? Yay or Nay

As some of you may recall, I was having a bit of sensitivity in my tooth after a braces adjustment and I was referred to an endodonthist. My endodonthist recommended sensodyne toothpaste.

Well, I went to the store to get some and I saw another one for Arm & Hammer called Advance White Sensitive. It provides sensitivity relief plus whitening. Since it was cheaper than the Sensodyne, I figured I might as well get it since I am a broke college student :D

Anywhoo, now I worry that I may be hurting my teeth. Doesn't whitening have the potential to CAUSE tooth sensitivity? Should I be staying away from whitening tooth paste.

Does any of you currently use whitening toothpaste with your braces? Any noticeable effect, negative or positive?

Thanks

I use sensodyne whitening too. It gets rid of recent stains like red wine (which always makes my teeth look black ewwww). I haven't noticed any sensitivity in my teeth at all for a long time.

I use the Crest Sensitive Whitening, with no sensitivities and I think the color of my teeth look the same.
