Movement stopped?

#1 Post by Super Soo »

Hi guys

Not been on this site for a while, it was my bible when I first got my braces!

Just a question about movement...

I have a screw in my top left hand gum which has an elastic attached to it which is then pulling my teeth round where i have too many on one side. My orthodontist has been trying to create a gap in between my 2 centre teeth for, I'd say, about 5 months now.

The gap originally moved apart super fast and within 2 weeks it was approximately 3mm. Now 5 months later the gap still seems the same and there doesn't seem movement in any other areas. Can teeth get "used to" the pull and stop moving?

Have had metal braces on top and bottom for almost 2 years, the bottom is nearly done....the top seems to have stopped!

Sue
