I get my top braces on next Thursday. That Friday is the first day of a three-day hockey tournament where I'll probably be scheduled to play 3-4 games.
My question is: Am I nuts to think I can play hockey so soon after getting braced? One girl on my team told me she spent her whole first weekend with braces crying and not able to eat. Another friend told me that with a couple Advil, I should be fine. I have no idea. Generally, I think I have a pretty high tolerance for pain, but I've never had braces before ...
Oh, and I will be wearing full face shield and mouthguard, so actually getting hit in the face is not a concern.
I've had braces for two days and I went to rugby practice today without problems. I could've gone on Tuesday (the day my uppers were braced) but I was sick. I'm sure you'll be fine.
