HELP! I got braced 3 days ago and the metal braces on my side teeth are hurting my cheeks. I am using wax, but it is not helping during eating. I am bleeding during and shortly after meals...

Went on an emergency visit to my ortho, and they said I can use
SOOTHE AND SEAL
ORABASE or
ORAJEL

Which one is best and most effective?
Are there any other methods to make those bruises go away?

HELP!!

IHB, I'm in the UK so I'm not familiar with those brand names. Are you rinsing with warm salt water daily? It's good for soothing those sore spots and will help them heal quicker and prevent any infection setting in.

If the wax is coming off when you eat, it might be worth going to a soft diet for a few days to let the sore places heal up. Keep the wax on the rest of the time if you can, and make sure you drink plenty of water to keep your mouth hydrated as a dry mouth will make the irritation worse. Most OTC canker sore remedies contain a local anaesthetic to help with the discomfort and a mild antiseptic, so there's probably not much difference between those products you mentioned. I just did a quick Google and it sounds like Soothe-and-Seal forms a protective film over the sore, so that might be a good choice.

Our mouths are generally remarkably quick at healing up, so if you can protect those spots for a few days, they should toughen up and not give you problems in the future.
