I'm not a big thread starter, but seeing as today is my one year anniversary, I thought I might break from routine.
This time last year I was the proverbial basket case, filled with fear, dread, anxiety and a very full bladder. I was positively shaking as I sat down in the chair, simply terrified of what I was about to do.
12 months on and what can I say? Maybe I've been one of the lucky ones, but it's been a dream run for me. I guess my head was in the right space for doing this now.
Now with the end in sight - potentially as early as May/June - I'm pleased I finally committed to treatment. There have been times where I've been a bit despondent (yes, this is true), but keeping the bigger picture in focus has always got me through. And observing the progress and fortitude of so many others here has given me strength. You are truly a fabulous bunch and this is truly a fabulous board.
And above all, the time absolutely flies. Which is both scary and exciting at the same time!
i agree with you, when i get down about having a mouth full of metal, i think about the bigger picture,... the rest of my life with an awesome smile.
i have been braced up for 2 years now. and my ortho has said they should be off about May....!!!!!! cant wait for the summer!
Well done lionfish, today I was really bored with my brace today, I am so impatient, I wish I was a year down the line but then that means I am wishing my life away.
Hope your teeth stay on schedule and you're all done in May.
Regards
Joney

Happy (late) one year anniversary, lionfish! I know what you mean about being despondent sometimes, I don't care what anyone says, there are times when everyone wonders "What the HECK have I done?!" But it's very worth it, you are right.
