Newbie! Openbite and Overbite braced for 4.5 months

#1 Post by DanceDiva »

Hi everyone...I just joined. I'm 28yrs old and got my braces about 4 and a half months ago. I started with an open bite and an over bite. I've been in elastics for about 4 weeks now to fix my openbite first. Man...it hurt the first week but my openbite is completely gone already! Yay...now I can't wait to see the results of fixing my overbite.

:D

Hey there! I've been in braces for the same amount of time!
I've heard that elastics hurt but work really well, so good luck!

Let us know what happens,
Joanna

Hi!! Welcome!! I've been in braces for about 4 1/2 months as well. It's been interesting to see my teeth change so dramatically! I've been thrilled, and it seems there's more room in my mouth than I thought! :) I started elastics a couple of weeks ago for overbite. I haven't noticed dramatic changes, yet, but I can feel SOMEthing happening. I take that as a good sign. Mine were uncomfy the first week, as well, but I have since adjusted with no problems. I forget that I have them on, and try to eat, and...well, that won't work. (Ha! Ha!)

Anyway, again...welcome!! You'll find this board to be extremely helpful and full of support!
Have a great evening!
