midline

#1 Post by blueriley »

I just started my treatment, both upper and lower brackets in July. Before I started my midline was correct and now 1.5 months into treatment my midline is way off. Is this normal, will he correct it later with elastics or something? :?

My midline was fine when i started then went off during treatment as we expanded and shifted.

I had elastics on to correct it some towards the end of treatment but i've finished treatment with it being off. My bite was good and my overbite corrected and my ortho said that fixing the midline was up to me but she was happy with how things were. I thought about it and decided that i would rather have a better bite than have my midline perfect and i really don't think anyone notices a midline thats not perfect. But everyone is different and the midline might be more important to you than it was for me.

My midline was fine when I started, then was off, and is now back to normal (no elastics to fix it). I think when your teeth are shifitng around this is bound to happen.
