Orthodontics and Medicines

#1 Post by Higgy »

I'm scheduled to get my braces on next Wednesday (Sept 20) and have just been diagnosed with asthma and a sinus infection that just won't go away. As a result, was put on Singulair, Medrol, and Septra....are any of these things that would need to be brought to the attention of the orthodontist, or would inhibit getting the braces put on?

It is always a good idea to update your health history with any medical professional before treatment is performed. But your steroids and AB's have no contraindications to basic ortho treatment so I wouldn't worry about it. Good luck!

Best,
Rory
