does the Theft detection system go off on anyone else?

I had never seen that before, and I thought it was really strange. I mean, who would think to look for a sensor sewn into a shirt or whatever? They should warn you about things like that. Is this some strange new security trend?
I believe they are supposed to demagnetize these things when you buy it and before you leave the store. Sometimes they forget and for some reason their security alarm does not go off when you leave. This happened to me with something I wanted to return. Alarms were going off all over the place! But yes, they are sewn into the fabric. It is probably cheaper and doesn't damage the clothes like those big clunky things that are pinned on and have to be removed.
