Did you get a wire change on your first adjustment?

At my first adjustment, I had a wire change on top but not on the bottom.

My first adjustment was to insert coils springs on my upper arch wire between the laterals and centrals.

I got a wire change on my first adjustment! I don't think they actually were going to do a wire change, but my teeth were moving pretty quickly (more quickly than I think they thought my teeth would move) so they added a second wimpy wire to my first wimpy wire for a super-wimpy wire on the bottom. For my top teeth, they added a rotation chain to my right front tooth to my upper incisor. Which I felt almost immediately.

For the most part, I think my teeth are moving better than my ortho thought they would, so every time I've gone in for an adjustment, either a wire has been changed or a chain has been added or elastics have been added. Except this last visit (my powerchain broke, so I went in early). My ortho thought I still needed to wait a little longer with the powerchain AND the elastics, so no changes at that appointment. My next appointment, though, they'll be changing my bottom wire out to try to upright my molars some more (they're tilted in towards my tongue). My upper teeth are basically done, so the wire's there to keep 'em from getting out of whack.

Nope! My first AND second adjustment were just tightening/replacing my ligatures. They did not replace my wire!

I had both wires changed. I was surprised--I didn't think I would.

not my first visit but my second i got moved up to a slightly bigger niti and after that i got moved up one more to another bigger niti that i had for a few months. I'm now seven months into my treatment and i just got bumped up a fourth time finally at my last visit a week ago. I'm now out of the niti arch wires and now have a stainless steal block .19 gauge arch wires that is considerably thicker compared to any of the other three i had before.

No, it does not mean that you get a new wire at each appointment.

Just had my first adjustment today. I only have my lower teeth braced for now, but they did change the wire to a thicker one. So far, a little more pressure, but no pain. I'm sure tomorrow I will feel it.

I did get both my wires changed on my first adjustment along with tiny coil springs around one bottom tooth and having to wear elastics now.

I had a wire change on my top row at my first adjustment. I haven't had many wire changes on the bottom row.

I got my upper wire changed at my first adjustment and kept the same lower wire, but they added some wire ligatures underneath the elastic ones. At my second adjustment, I kept the same wires as before...the most recent one (yesterday), I got a longer wire on top (but the same thickness as before) to accommodate new rear molar bands and the bottom wire was changed to the same thickness as the top. I've already been warned that I will probably get new wires at my next appointment as well...moving to thicker, stainless steel wires instead of the titanium I'm in now.

Just had my first adjustment yesterday... My top wire stayed the same, but got a new rectangular wire on the bottom!
