Just got braces...have a question?

Hi!

Welcome to the board and congrats on getting your braces. I will have my braces off when I'm 24...I also wish I would have done this before!

For your question, I think that this is the way they do it. Maybe to get them as far as possible from the gums so you can brush well? I'm really not sure...but if you look at the pics on this board, everyone has them pretty low...so its nothing to worry about.

Maybe it has something to do with the bite?

That is a really interesting question!!!!! I need to ask my ortho because this has really gotten me curious!

My ortho put the brackets right smack in the middle... weird!
