THE EXPANDERS ARE OUT!!!

My expanders have been taken out FINALLY!!! This would be a perfect day if i had not gotten brackets on my very last molars on the bottom. They are soo painful, they are sticking into my jaw bone! Oh well, the expanders are off!!! For those of you that have expanders, don't think that getting them off is painless. It HURTS. Well, in my case it did. The assistant practically yanked them off! She was pulling and tugging and goes "Wow these are on good!" and my eyes are watering and im like "Gee, ya think??" but still... THE EXPANDERS ARE OFF!!!!! I CAN TALK AND EAT NORMAL!!!

Hi Katie,

I'm so happy for you. How long did you have to wear your expander and what kind of expander did you have?

So is your next step just the braces and adjustments? How long do you have to wear your braces?

I wore my expanders since August 15th. I had key turning expanders on top and bottom. I have also had braces since August 15th. I will probably have to wear my braces for another 2 years.
