It has been about five weeks since I got top and bottom braces. Damons, nothing odd, just those nasty cleats on inside bottom molar bands and hooks on molars top and bottom; no elastics yet.
But here's the thing. It seems as if a different bracket is poking me every few days. For the past three weeks or more, I could hardly feel the bottoms at all; then two days ago, two brackets on the right front bottom began to seriously aggravate my lip. This morning, the left side bottom was almost too sore to chew. Other times, it has been an upper bracket. In short, every few days, just when I figure an annoyance is over with, a new one begins somewhere. It this normal? Is this sort of entertainment what I have to look forward to for the next 22 months and one week?
Thanks.

Is everything supposed to change all the time?

Yes, teeth move around all the time. I can go weeks without needing wax and then suddenly, a spot that has never chafed before will start bugging me. It happened just the other day. I agree with Merytan...just put some wax on it before bedtime and in the morning the sore spot will feel much better.

Braced 5/11/05, BSSO with advancement 6/21/06, Debanded: 8/1/07. Click on www for my braces story.
Thanks
Thanks for the replies and advice. I haven't gotten any actual sores, just a sort of scratchy feeling. I use Tom's All Natural Toothpaste, so I think it doesn't probably have that problem ingredient, but will check. I think taking the vitamins is a great idea; the B vitamins, especially, might be good because they help with stress, and frankly, while I've never been in great pain, I find the fact of having barbed wire in my mouth, with or without the 'birds' that get trapped in it when I eat, to be highly stressful.
Thanks again.
