It was daunting at the beginning and I had to keep asking my husband if he's okay.

Apparently, where there's a will there's a way! I'm 6 months into treatment and sex life is still

Hi there,
Just got a bonded hyrax expander in today. My husband suggested to take it slow and just try what is possible for the both of us. Keep you updated.

I'd only be concerned with lingual braces or protruding wires, other than that it should go pretty OK. Do take it slowly though, try to re-adjust to how your teeth are now feeling. I'm not an orthodontist, but don't think this activity would impact your treatment, it's not like a 3+ year old sucking his thumb for hours/day. Best of luck during your treatment ;)
