Are final wires only for arch or do they also pull teeth down?

#1 Post by Specialk5454 »

I am supposed to have my braces off in 2 months but I still see a lot of problems with my teeth. I'm in my final wires and have triangle rubber bands at night only. My main area of concern are the teeth on each side of my top two front teeth. Those teeth on each side of my top two are ALOT shorter than the others. Will the final wires continue to pull those teeth downward?

It depends on what your ortho is currently working on. Did you mention to him/her about wanting your laterals to come down more? If your ortho isn't working on them, or adding any bends to your wires, it's not going to come down. That said, it does sound like a minor tweak that is likely to be corrected within a couple of weeks. I'd say talk to your ortho about it.
