My wisdom teeth started growing in about a month ago (I got my braces on in January 2018). I saw a specialist to consider booking my removal surgery and was told that both teeth growing in seem healthy and no sign of infection or problems, which is a contributing factor as to why I haven't had them removed yet (however, it's also a time issue- I do plan on it for hopefully next month or the following). After my last tune up about a week ago I noticed that my wire is resting on my wisdom tooth on one side. Is this an issue that I should bring to my ortho's attention now or should I just wait until my next appointment (December 5th)? I don't know if there will be any movement from this tooth at all and It is uncomfortable but I know how ortho's feel about drop-in fixes. (yes the pain from it cutting my cheek can be dealt with by dental wax but a) it doesn't work and b) that is an awkward spot to try to shove a glob of wax) Can they even make that wire any shorter?
Yes they can make the wire shorter. I have gone in to my ortho a few times just to get my wire trimmed when they were sticking out and digging a hole in my cheek. They usually just cut the wire using a dental drill.
