Hello world,
It's about 5 weeks since I have my braces on, and I noticed that one of the frontal upper incisors has shifted in a weird way. It is like it has grown inwards somehow, I can not explain it.
I will add here 2 pictures with before and after (and a slightly red line drawn so that you can notice the difference).
Is this normal? I am scared, the last thing I want is uneven frontal teeth. :(

It really is a big difference for 5 weeks of treatment only, and to be honest I expected positive results. :(

Yet another negative change. My upper left canine shifted in a weird way, it's going inwards. It was perfectly aligned at first. Is this normal?? :(

Things get worse before it starts to get better. Depending on what your ortho is currently working on to correct, you may sometimes see that progress isn't linear. I personally have noticed a crooked tooth become straight and then become crooked again before becoming straight again. That said, if it's bothering you alot, definitely talk to your ortho. It's good to have an open communication with him/her and to be involved in your own treatement.
Re: Intermediary weird changes
I would definitely talk with the orthodontist so that you can be reassured that it's all part of the long-term plan.
At the onset of my treatment I was warned repeatedly that things would get worse before they got better. I started with a cross bite on the sides and an edge-to-edge bite in the front but could generally close my teeth. One month in my edge-to-edge bite was an underbite, I had a vertical gap in my teeth where there hadn't been one, and my teeth looked like a disaster.
The orthodontist was doing that in order to address some crowding on my bottom teeth, and as soon as that got smoothed out, they used elastics to get my bite into place and get my bottom teeth behind my top teeth and closing properly. It took 20 months total but in the end it worked out exactly as promised.
Without the initial warnings I too would have been worried. My teeth looked like a train wreck for about 6 months even though initially they hadn't been that bad.

Re: Intermediary weird changes
Thanks! Yeah, will ask tomorrow my orthodontist, see what his plan is. I thought 2 months are enough to see some great changes, but nothing. :( And soon I must also extract premolars x.x
