Cold sensitivity???

#1 Post by Jami1 »

Is it normal for teeth to be cold sensitive? I got my braces 8 days ago. Thanks.

Yes, it is, but that usually won't last. However, beware of tooth sensitivity that does not go away, it could indicate uncontrolled inflammation that may damage the roots of your teeth. In doubt talk about it with your doc and ask for x-rays (not now, of course, but in a few months, if this persists).

I've been braced for 13 months and just started having cold sensitivity in my right front tooth. If it persists I'll have it checked out.

Some sensitivity is normal because the teeth are moving. The sensitivity should get better as time go by and not get worse. If it does, then you should get it checked out.
