Hello all! I am new here, and this is my first post.
I have had my braces since late July 2016 – about a year now. I have two TAP mini screws implanted in each side of my upper jaw, with a rubber band connected to each canine from the screw.
One of the bands came off while I was brushing my teeth, and I tried my best to put it on, but failed. My next appointment is in 4 days, and I am currently 250km away from my orthodontist as I'm with my parent. I will not be able to visit him if this is urgent.
Is this urgent and requires me to head to the ortho, or will it be okay to go without the band for 4 days? The band had already helped my canine close the gap a month ago, and the ortho had left the band there just for a while longer.
I know the usual response would be "call your ortho" and I am planning to do just that at 9am when they are open! It's 5am right now and I cannot sleep.
Any words of advice? Thank you all in advance.
P/s: I have always loved this forum since the time I got my braces, and never expected to see myself posting!

Oops, I meant TAD (Temporary anchorage device), instead of TAP. So sorry!

Re: TAD elastic came off while brushing
I ended up going to the local ortho in the town I am in right now to get a new elastic band on. She was reluctant as she was afraid of meddling with my braces which were put on by my regular ortho, but I convinced her that I knew where the band should be placed, and she put it on.
Now it is tighter than my old band which had become less elastic, so I'm worried it will move my canine more than it should.
But I called my ortho and they said I should be fine till Friday with the new band, and they'll see what to do from there.
