Deviated midline

#1 Post by damez »

The midline of my upper teeth is 3 mm off the centre, I started to use elastic rubber bands to correct it. My question is how long does it take to be centred ? I never noticed before until my ortho mentioned.

Thank you

Assuming you wear the elastic as instructed, pretty quick (while the elastics are on they practically force the teeth to stay aligned).

I initially when from very weak elastics (Wearing them from molars to front most hook) to triangle elastic configuration with heavy elastics (very tight/strong). Have been on Triangle config full time for many months (and will only stop in about a month when my braces are about to be removed).

My midline is also 3mm off, due to both left canines being extracted in my youth/teen years...everything shifted left. I've had both my right canines extracted in the past 4 months and am eager to see things move back. I wanted the elastics right away, but they told me things have to heal up first *sigh*. Hoping my mid-July appointment sees me with powerchains and elastics; I'm ready for this to happen!!! :-*
