Wires upgraded on the top and the bottom. Both Steel wires. Finally placed a power chain on my top 4 to begin closing the gap in between my 2 front teeth
Come on gap...close
Those with the front gap, how long did it take yours to close with the power chains? I know everyone is different. Just curious. My teeth are already feeling sore.
The placement of the power chains and new wires were not painful btw
Hope the gaps starts to close soon. I asked how long my gap would take and they said "pretty quickly" she said I should see a difference in a few weeks. Although mine is quite big as it was an extraction.
I feel it's easier to notice a difference with a bigger gap than a smaller one, I have a small gap that got created in the course of fine adjustments to my bottom teeth.
Even after 1.5 months it seems hardly any closer to closed.
Lots of crimes here
1. The upper molars bite too far ahead of the lower molars
I also have been closing gaps: upper and lower. I started my braces late 30s. Still have them. But I chose the gaps vs. implants. Upper right gap slightly opened due to fine tuning front teeth. Now, we are working on pulling the front back out for a natural flair and a slight cross over. Guess the gap work was a bit OVER DONE?!? Lol! Anywho, it will be 5 years since I started this whole process. This last appointment was a doozie!!!! Moved 7 brackets, both upper and lower wires increased and moved rubber bands. The Ortho eventually told the assistant NOT to put the arch wire back in the bottom till my mouth had a chance to "adjust" to the new wires.
THIS WAS MY QUE THAT I WAS IN FOR SOME PAIN MEDS AND A FEW DAYS OF ICE PACKS!!! And I was right!!!

Ahhhhh few weeks still seems like forever lol but alas the time will pass. At least my front gap isn't as big as an extraction gap so it may be sooner lol.

Yeah, I'm on my 3rd power chain for 2 different gaps, I think my current gap might close by my mid-december appointment, 3 months seems awfully long to close a small gap though.
And yes they are still moving, I'm pretty much at the fine tuning stage where they make a lot of smaller changes and I think that's how this gap got created.

I've been in braces for over two months now and have noticed some gaps from treatment. Do orthos typically wait until the end of treatment to close the gaps or do they work on the gaps at different times during treatment?
