Finally Braced!!

#1 Post by gracie381 »

I am officially braced as of 3:00 p.m. today. It's about 9:00 p.m. and I'm feeling pretty good. Not hurting too much yet. I went with bright orange & green. When I bite down, my molar band hits my bottom bracket, but my ortho said the way my teeth are tilted as this moment, it will do that. He thinks after my first adjustment, it will be better. Anyway, hope tomorrow feels just as good  Anway, just wanted you to know that I'm now officially part of the group. Also, thanks for all your support leading up to me finally being braced, and I'll look forward to taking this long journey with all of you!!

Congrats on officially becoming one of us! Glad to hear they're not bothering you too much. Remember, pain reliever and wax might be your best friends for a few days - and then you'll forget you have them.

Many many congratulations Gracie!!! Worth a decision you took. I can feel the excitement you have now. I still have the same excitement even after 7 weeks. The journey is enjoyable, and not that bad as we imagine before starting the treatment.

Two cheers on your braces and soon-to-be a lovely smile!!! :-88

Thanks everyone. I look forward to hanging out here quite a bit. I'll keep everyone posted on my progress, and you guys be sure and do the same. As for your question 2XRound, I was definitely scared before I got my braces on, but to be honest it wasn't bad at all. It was completely painless when they put them on, and it's my first full day with them and I haven't experienced any pain, just tightness and they are rubbing my lower lip which is starting to get a little irrated. I will start a warm salt water rinse and probably use some wax while I'm at work and when I eat. I work at a newspaper, so there is a lot of talking. Other than that I will try to leave off the wax so my mouth will toughen up some. My spacers were a headache, but that only lasted a week. I also had 4 extractions, but they weren't bad at all. Only complaining I have is being hungry :x Can't wait to be able to eat again!!! Anyway I think it will definitely be worth it. I worried myself to death before I got these braces. I was mainly worried about the pain, but so far no major pain. If I can go through with it anybody can. I'm a big chicken and terrified of the dentist, and I also love to eat. Feel free to ask me anything else.
