Powerchain causing overlap

#1 Post by BristolBoy »

Here's the thing. Had braces on almost 2 years, in a 2 year course. They've been pulled out from a fairly serve overlap in the front two teeth. I should be on one of the last appointments in 7 weeks.
Now the power chain is closing the last gaps, but it's also now started to cause an overlap in the two teeth again. It's only very small, but I thought I had better ask the question early.
What should I do?

Call your ortho asap! Almost there, don't want backwards progress.

Definitely this. If I understand correctly, you have another appointment in 7 weeks. That might be the check to schedule your debond and there might be more refinements made at that appointment. I don't know how your office does the appointments, but my ortho's office has always been really good about telling me beforehand what is going to happen at my next appointment. And when we scheduled my debond, they had me schedule with a receptionist instead of a tech and very clearly told me "This is your debond date".

I had this exact thing happen! I contacted my ortho and got an appointment right away. I went in and my ortho was happy to make some adjustments to get things corrected :) just give em a call!
