So when I asked back in March l was told approx 6months left of having the brace. Went to my appointment on Friday and got told to book in for 6weeks time, so went to reception and they booked me in for September.... That's over 11 weeks away!! I swear the lack of appointments has caused my teeth to slope up and outwards, on adverage I'm waiting 10-11 weeks when my orthodontist is recommending 6-8weeks each time. So my hope of getting this off by September is now going to be next March because they are near enough doubling the recommended times.
Normally I am a very positive person but right now I am pissed off. I have contacted a local orthodontist to ask if they can take me on even though the treatment is currently on the NHS. I know I am extremely lucky because people pay thousands but surely there has got to be a point when the treatment is not sufficient and especially when I view my teeth to be in a worse state now compared to when they started. Yes I have an adult tooth in place of the milk tooth but my bite and jaw line is all over the place. Argh
That sounds annoying and infuriating, but i guess maybe thats just part of getting the NHS to pay for them (theres probably a lot of people getting them for free), if thats the case I guess theres nothing you can do unless you switch to a private orthodontist (which of course is expensive).

Lol I totally get it, I know some of you are paying thousands and I know it's a lengthy process, but honestly if I didn't think it was having a detrimental affect on my teeth I wouldn't be saying it.
The other ortho isn't able to take on adults on the NHS so that's out. They just advised that I talk to my orthodontist at the next appointment. So I guess I'll wait the 11weeks and see what happens to my teeth in the meantime. X
I signed consent for the op but I don't think I have signed for the brace. That's why I was so surprised when they said I could have the treatment (my dentist referred me at a small chance they would say yes, I was on maternity leave so dental was free during the year they referred me.). I'm trying not to think about it too much and to stop looking as much. I ask for an appointment in 6 weeks and they come back with one in 11 weeks so I guess that the closest they have xx
Maybe you can ask them to call you if someone cancels an appointment so that you can get your adjustment earlier. I was always really pushy with the front desk when they tried to give me an appointment that was later than the orthodontist said. The squeaky wheel gets the grease (as long as you are nice about it )

Haha, that's a good saying!!! I'll question it next time I go up, they put a really thick wire on this time so I'm interested to see what it does. I'll remember to be a friendly squeaky wheel!
I think the opposite- the nicer you are the more people are apt to help you. Don't just be polite but make the people at the office feel appreciated. Tell them some jokes. Wish them a great day. Be positive. You'll be surprised.
Lol I was on a total downer when I posted this but I am a very happy friendly human lol! I think the lady at reception was having a bad day (system change). I'm going to ask when I see the ortho next though just incase it can be helped. Xxx
