Is Invisalign an option for me?

#1 Post by omgyourswag »

I need to fix my open bite and I was wondering if Invisalign is a good option because I'm 20 going on 21 and don't really want to use braces

I don't have the orthodontic background or experience to make an assessment and neither do the people who frequent this forum. We do have a few qualified individuals who are actual practicing orthodontics, but I doubt they'll be willing to assess your case just by looking at your pictures. You need to consult an orthodontist or several to see if you're a candidate for Invisalign.
Offenses: Skeletal and Dental Class 2 malocclusion

I see, I'll just wait and ask an orthodontist when I get the chance.

Also keep in mind that orthodontists differ in their abilities. One might tell you "No way! You can't have Invisalign, much too complicated" and another might say "No problem!". Always get more than one consultation (often they are free) and also don't rule out regular braces. They could work faster and more reliably for you than Invisalign. Good luck!

•Permanent retainer top and bottom
•Essix retainers top and bottom 16 hr/day for a year and then nightly afterwards.

I don't think I would seek Invisalign unless I had like a super simple case with just straightening needed, which your case clearly isn't, so I think Invisalign probably wouldn't be suitable

I'm no orthodontist though, so you can ask 2-3 orthodontists at consultations and see what they say if you really want to see if you can get Invisalign
Lots of crimes here

1. The upper molars bite too far ahead of the lower molars

2. Missing teeth #s 9, 14, and, 29

3. Open bite

4. Upper midline left of center

5. Lower midline right of center

6. Upper and lower teeth not straight

Sentence - 24 months, turned to 27 month.

Braces removed since 11/06/17

Like others have said go get a free consult at an ortho. But one piece of advise dont get your heart set on invisalign until you go for the consult. That happened to me. This whole year up until september i had my mind set for only invisalign. I went to a new dentist in september who told me i still have my baby canine tooth and the adult one is impacted and said he didnt think invisalign would work. After that i made two appointments for ortho consults and both agreed invisalign wouldnt work unless i wanted to remove the adult canine....just keep your mind opened...

Look up ortho's on Invisalign.com. I found one that was the highest rated in my town. He said I was a candidate when other Ortho's said I wasn't.
