Just popped a bracket :(

#1 Post by Lauradarlin »

Hello lovely gurus!

I'm 10 weeks in with very little to complain about but I've just lost the back bracket on my lower braces :(

It just fell off, nothing in my mouth, just there it was! It's on a tooth with a nasty silver filling and I remember when it was put on the technician requesting extra glue for it...clearly not enough! My issue is, it's Friday night and my Ortho office is closed until Monday. Is there anything I can do (or not do) to try to minimise the damage?

Much love :)

I think the thing to be worried about is that the end of the wire may dag into your cheek, if it does that just means to use wax until you can get in, besides that a few days shouldn't be that bad

Just get in to your orthodontist to get it fixed ASAP
Lots of crimes here

1. The upper molars bite too far ahead of the lower molars

2. Missing teeth #s 9, 14, and, 29

3. Open bite

4. Upper midline left of center

5. Lower midline right of center

6. Upper and lower teeth not straight

Sentence - 24 months, turned to 27 month.

Braces removed since 11/06/17

Don't fret...call your ortho first thing comes Monday morning and I'm sure they'll squeeze you in for rebracketing. And if it's a bracket that's not engaged to the wire yet, no worries! Even if it were, still no worries. No major shifting will occur.
Offenses: Skeletal and Dental Class 2 malocclusion
Sentence: 12-15 months
Jailed: 3/24/15
Released: 5/24/16

Thanks guys, the wire is lying quite flat against my tooth so it's not causing me any problems so far. Just hope I don't lose anymore before Monday!

It must be an unlucky day as the same thing happened to me yesterday. And yes, my ortho is closed for the weekend too...

My wire popped out from last two molars while flossing and the second to the last bracket fell off. Luckily, I was able to remove that bracket and save it and also managed to put the wire back in the last bracket (I have Damon brackets).
