about molar buildups ......

#1 Post by snugglepuss »

I just got molar buildups + elastics . and there is only one problem with this scenario , the buildups are uneven .
you see when he put them on he kept asking if i can touch them both , but unaware to me i was biting a bit wrong , as i was my moving my jaw a little bit to the side thus touching both of them , when i got home and to a mirror i noticed that when i bite right i can only touch the buildup on the right molar . what s stressing me out is the elastics , i m just paranoid that the constant force from the elastic is not a good thing in this case .

so is it as big of a deal as i am making it ? is there a way to wear down the molar buildup quickly so as to get it even with the other one ?

thank you so much for reading . and thank in advance .

I think it's probably not a big deal, but call your ortho and ask. Don't try to modify your molar buildups yourself; if anything, I suspect you would need the shorter one built up. Anyway, "constant force" is the whole point of elastics, so do keep wearing them as prescribed!

i mean yes about the elastics , i m just paranoid that it will make one side higher than the other because the molar buildup aren't even . it may be just paranoia though .....
