Finally started!

I had my top brace fitted this morning :D . So far there is a sensation of steady pressure but no actual pain in the teeth, I hope that this remains the case. One of the brackets is a bit uncomfortable against the inside of the cheek (due to the shape of the tooth it had to be fitted slightly further back than normal). Bottom brace will go on in mid october. Projected treatment time is 20 months and I am really looking forward to having a functional bite and straigher teeth :D

Thankyou Grapefruit and KK. Great to hear from a person who is also relatively newly braced and someone who is an "old hand" too. How far off finishing your treatment are you Grapefruit?

Hi, Dee,

Got my tops on last WEdnesday, and that is how my braces felt. Inside of my upper lip felt alittle raw on Saturday, but nothing major or that warranted waxing.

However, later that evening,I had to let out a little "Ummph!!" because my mouth felt tired and weary and I was getting tired of it feeling that way.

ANyway, this Monday morning, everything seems fine and I am not bothered by them, almost feel normal. LOL

Still eat funny, though...

Hi Karri45
Thankyou for that, I know what you mean about the mouth feeling "tired". However I am really fortunate in that I have no major pain, just the pressure and not being able to chew anything. Soup is my favourite thing at the moment  I am glad that your mouth feels normal now. Today I was so busy at work that I forgot about the braces entirely -- until lunchtime that is
