Hi everyone! I have had metal damon braces since April of last year. I am really happy with them overall, except for one thing...my crown. Let me give you a short history. One of my molars is a crown and then there is a space that needs to be closed up between the crown and another tooth. So I had a bracket & wire on the crown to begin with. About 6 months later the bracket popped off the crown. No big deal...orthodontist kept the bracket off for a few months to let the area rest. The space in between closed up a lot, but not quite. That brings us to last week. I got the bracket put back on my crown and am fully wired again. They stepped down the wire to a lighter wire b/c of some other stuff, so I wouldn't think I'd have any issues. But the gum around my crown is so itchy and irritated feeling. Looking at it, it looks fine. It just feels uncomfortable.
Anyone go through this? Does it ease up? Could it be b/c it wasn't wired for a while and now it's just getting used to it again?
I haven't had much trouble/pain with these things until now. The latest wire change has really made me not like these braces!
