braces and tiredness
I am on day 4, and I am *exhausted*... I expected pain, sensitivity, pressure... Etc. I never expected to be this tired...
Anyone else ? Or am I just weird and apparently overworked lol.

Re: braces and tiredness
If you changed your diet dramatically, that might be contributing to your exhaustion.
Are you sleeping well? Could the braces be interfering with your breathing at night (i.e., sleep apnea?)

I'm the owner/admin of this site. Had ceramic uppers, metal lowers ~3 years in my early 40's. Now in Hawley retainers at night!
Re: braces and tiredness
Congratulations on your new braces! I also get pretty tired when I get adjustments. I always attributed it to dealing with the pain all day. I feel that this wears me out. They also will wake me up at night so I don't always get a good night's rest.

Re: braces and tiredness
I had that at the start. No real pain but a feeling of exhaustion. I think there were 2 reasons. First, I had been very stressed out beforehand about getting braces. I hadn't slept properly for ages and was tired before I got them. Second, when I actually did get them, I still wasn't sleeping as well. I wasn't waking up fully but I was tossing and turning a lot. I think it was because my mouth couldn't feel comfortable and I found it difficult for my lips to totally cover my braces. I kept getting a dry mouth and this would wake me up. It got better after about a week to 10 days but I had the same problem when my ortho put on my lower brackets (in March) and when she put in a closed coil spring in April.

Hmm. I'm pretty sure I'm sleeping soundly. I just feel like I need more. It could be stress level... We had our wedding 2 weeks ago and just came back from the honeymoon...
I hope I catch up on sleep soon

Wow! Wedding, honeymoon, and braces within a two-week period. And you wonder why you're tired?

LOL.. I'm a bit of a mover and shaker..
I wasn't really tired until AFTER the braces though... then I was like 16-18 hours of sleep per day over the weekend TIRED... Which made me wonder

Re: braces and tiredness
I would assume that before the braces you were still on a high from your wedding and honeymoon as well as anxious about getting your braces. No surprise that after your braces were on you finally had to get some much needed rest.
Re: braces and tiredness
Perhaps your new husband may be playing a role in all of this fatigue
