Did you run over time?

#1 Post by fleur26 »

Hey! I'm 27 and have been in braces now for 33 months. My original estimate was 22-24 months so I've gone some months over. I dont think about my braces all the time anymore as they've become a way of life for me now but dream of the day they come off! Is anyone else in a similar situation and feeling the months pass by?

Hello,

I am! Estimate was 22 - 24 months...check out my tickler!

Like you said, they are a non-issue at this point for me. For others, I keep hearing, "When are you going to get those things off??"

I have an appointment in a couple of weeks, we have been trying to close a gap all year. It is closing, but slowly, so I feel it is time to take them off. My ortho said I can get a cap on one tooth to close the gap. That's my plan.

What is your hold up?

YES. My braces were scheduled to be on for 18-24 months but they ended up being removed at 34 months.

I'm at the 30 month mark now after a 24 month estimate. Still trying to close some stubborn gaps. There's no deband date yet in sight although I keep being told that its getting closer. I suspect its another 6 months or so. I've been going for adjustments every 2 weeks since February to try to speed things along.
