Ceramics Comfortable Ledge

#1 Post by amyhenna »

I just started getting my top braces on yesterday: six ceramics in the front, still awaiting titanium brackets to arrive which will go on my molars.

My question to the world is: Does anyone else find having braces to be more comfortable than not having them? I've been using the ceramic uppers as a ledge on which to perch my upper lip. It feels good. I've been wondering if some day they'll have heated, vibrating braces that give lip massages. Also it would be cool if they flashed/strobed.

Anyway, I guess I can't ask for the world. I'm just very relieved that the braces are this comfortable. I'm hoping the titaniums feel good too, or at least not bad! :-)

$6,000 for a lip ledge is a little steep, but are ya gonna do? :o

Haha, I wish I could say I find mine comfortable. Sadly I am gritting my teeth and putting up with it until my torture is over :P Glad you're not having any problems though! Lol at a lip ledge, I do that too sometimes.

I rather like my lip perch too (nice term for it). Just wish it were a little less expensive!

I'm the owner/admin of this site. Had ceramic uppers, metal lowers ~3 years in my early 40's. Now in Hawley retainers at night!
