can anyone give me some encouragement?

#1 Post by 88oscar »

Ive been braced with the Inman Aligner now for nearly 8 weeks, Ive been wearing it for 22 hours a day since.
During my first two weeks i noticed some great movement and my ortho was suprised how well it moved during my first two weeks.
However since then ive had barely any movement, ive had 3 appointment since, he filed twice and tightened it up at the other appointment.
My ortho told me it a simple case to align and i should be done in 10 weeks. Im due to see my ortho next week but got to tell him my dissapointment so far.
Really starting to lose faith in the IA.

Hi Oscar,

I'm really sorry to hear that you're so disappointed. I'm not sure what kind of treatment you're having but 10 weeks is an incredibly quick time to move teeth - maybe your ortho was just being very optimistic? It's better that your teeth move safely rather than forcing them to move quickly and leaving them unstable - maybe talk to your ortho about the fact that you haven't seen any movement in the last few weeks and that you're becoming discouraged - he might come up with another course of treatment or he might even show you little movements that you haven't noticed yet!

At the end of this, hopefully you'll have a smile that you love and surely that's worth waiting a few more weeks for! :jump: Let us know how you get on...
