Holiday after Wisdom Teeth Surgery?

#1 Post by yojimbo »

Hi all,

I'm due to have my 4 wisdom teeth removed under general anaesthetic. The hospital has given me a surgery date,
but it is 5 days before I am due to go on holiday to Disneyland for a few days!

Just wondering, is it likely that I would recover to a state where I could enjoy my holiday, and
without having a massive swollen face? :)

Not sure if I should re-arrange the surgery until after my holiday. But I get worked up about things,
I just want to get it out of the way.

Any advice is appreciated.

I had my surgery right before Thanxgiving last year. It wasn't a good idea. The problem wasn't swelling, but eating. I couldn't eat any Thanxgiving treats.

I felt pretty much normal after 3-4 days when I got three wisdom teeth pulled. However, I heal really fast and they weren't majorly impacted. Also, I wasn't eating normally until about a week and a half after the surgery (mostly because I didn't want to be fishing bits of food out of my extraction cavity).

I think pain and swelling wise you'll probably be okay, as long as you can find soft or liquid foods to eat if you need them.

I had all 4 wisdom teeth pulled, with 2 impacted and went to Disneyland the next day. I couldn't chew anything, and I discovered, at the time, the Blue Bayou Restaurant was the only place that had soup. Other than not being able to eat, I was fine.
