Hello-I am a 36-year old female who got braces in August of 2010, so I have had braces for 22 months and I have approximately until January 2013 to get my braces removed. I had upper and lower jaw surgery (Lefort 1 osteotomy and they just evened out my lower jaw) in October.
I am considering a relocation about 1500 miles away in August, with 5 months left to my treatment. I wonder.. should I fly back and see my ortho, or look for a new one where I am relocating? Have any of you done this? Did you have a difficult time finding a person to take over your treatment? Did it cost a lot of extra money? Any experiences would be appreciated. Thank you!

Re: Changing Orthodontists due to Relocation?
My orthodontist is far away and I go see her. I've actually decided to go to college where she is located just to make things easier. But I would say jsut go back with the 5 months left. Maybe he'll only make you go every 8 weeks.
