Your teeth and your bite look AMAZING for 3 months, AMAZING, you must be thrilled. I loved your blog and love looking at progress pictures, gives me hope (I am 5 weeks in ceramic tops/metal bottoms and twice your age, lol)!

Thank you so much! You comment really did make me happy.

I couldn't believe the speed of my progress also!

Thanks for taking a look at my blog too!

Don't worry about just getting them! We're all pretty much in the same boat, and time really will fly. I'v already had mine for 3 months and it feels like yesterday that I got them on.

Are you fixing an underbite as well?

I have just read your blog...WOW! Wow and wow!! Incredible! Your teeth look finished already! What else needs to be done? I honestly can't see your treatment taking the full length of time estimated. And if i you dont mind me saying, your lips are gorgeous!! Your so lucky, I am very jealous of your teeth (and lips! ha ha)

Thank you so very much! That is very sweet of you to say!

The orthodontist said he needs to close the bite together a bit more with elastics and bring my bottom teeth back a little. I have a little gap on the side that'll need closing, too. My midlines are visibly off, which I'm sure will be fixed also, because I did bring it up with my doctor 2 months in, but he said it's too early to refine anything like that, and that "you need to build the house before you paint the rooms", or something like that.

I also hope that the estimated time will not have to exhaust itself. My orthodontist said that he can see it being done in the shortest time possible, but within the time frame, which was wonderful news!

Thank you again for your comments! It really does make me smile! :D

Your teeth are so gorgeous! They were pretty straight before the braces, so it was easy to see that they'd look wonderful. Congrats on such quick movement, they look amazing!

Oh, thank you so much! It's really nice to hear such wonderful words.

It's so encouraging to hear and not too soon I'll have a perfect smile.

Great progress so far! I'm glad you posted this as I am being treated for an under bite too, although mine is more an edge to edge bite since my bottom teeth don't come out in front of my tops, they just sit right in line with my top teeth if you know what I mean. I read your blog and I can't believe how fast your bottom teeth moved behind your top teeth. I can only hope mine end up looking as good as yours. I'm starting to get discouraged since I'm almost 6 months in and I still only have the lightest rubber bands. I was surprised you got the heavy rubber bands so soon in treatment. I wonder when I'll get heavy bands. I can't wait for my bottom teeth to move behind my tops so I can have a normal bite! Well good luck and thanks again for posting your blog!

Thank you so much! It's great to hear you're undergoing treatment, too, and I hope it's going well. I don't think you should worry too much about the elastics situation, your orthodontist hopefully knows what they're doing. I can't wait until your tops move behind your bottoms too! That was certainly what I was waiting for and I was absolutely delighted I can't tell you enough.

The before photo is of my teeth in my natural closed position, but was not the furthest my teeth could meet, fortunately! I could push my upper teeth edge to edge but that was not how my teeth sat in my mouth.

The following photo shows how far I could push my upper teeth, where my teeth were just meeting edge to edge, no more, but isn't reflective of my bite relationship as my molars didn't touch when my mouth was postured like this.

Thanks again, and you're welcome to check my blog for updates!

I thought I would make a bump, update post. I've added a few more entries to my blog http://saybraces.blogspot.com and my progress has been coming along nicely since.

4 months to the day of wearing braces, and I couldn't be happier! My underbite is well gone and my teeth have come into a nice bite. A few little adjustments, here and there to teeth positioning, and I should have a perfect smile--here's hoping--in no time!

This photo was taken about a week ago.

I've been wearing elastics since day 1 to help close my bite into a proper relationship. The 'E' elastics came from the top molar bands to where those small metal nodule things are on the bottom (but they used to be small loops, I recently had them changed when I got a new archwire on the bottom). I wore these 24/7.

From month 3, slightly stronger 'D' elastics coming from the top first canines to the metal nodules were used on an alternating basis with the 'E' elastics. They were worn for 16 hours, and the 'E' elastics for the other 8.

Currently I am wearing the 'E' and 'D' elastics, alternating days, for half a day, which is excellent. I wear them after dinner and take them out before breakfast.

They don't exactly hurt, but they have worked really well and very fast to bring my bite into line, which just gets better every day. Check out my blog when you can. I detail everything and include more photos of my progress.

Thanks!
