GOT BRACED TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey guys I finally got my braces in. All metal. I was so scared of how the metal would look but I actually like it. They are smaller than I thought they'd be and getting them on was kind of uncomfortable but it doesn't hurt at all now. I do feel a bit scratchy but have yet to use the wax.

I ended up going to the cheapest option and I guess my ortho was just 'off' the first day I went, cause today he was real patient and answering all my questions. The only thing I didn't like was my nurse. She seemed kind of complain oh well.

Yay I'm actually excited to have them on cause i've lamented over how my teeth look for so long and the fact that I like how the braces look on me will make treatment easier. In a strange sort of way I actually feel more confident with the braces on than I used to but have to get used to how I feel when I talk with them.

Oh aaaand i also have an impacted canine and I was worried about walking around with a gap but my ortho told me they'll put in a plastic tooth (idk how that will work though when trying to use the power chain to pull the other tooth down)

Congrats!! Be sure to take progress pictures. You will be amazed. I took a long time getting braces myself (at the tender age of 49). I have ceramics on top and metal on the bottom.
Have plenty of wax and don't be afraid if you end up swallowing food whole. I do.

Congrats. I'm 2 weeks in and you'll be surprised how quickly your mouth gets used to the braces. Only took me a week, now I forget they are in (until I try to chew through a bagel).

My pain with the top braces lasted about a week. The first couple of days were hard, then it got better. Now I don't even notice the braces. The spacers still hurt, but only when I chew.

It helped to take either tylenol or ibuprofen regularly. I didn't wait until it hurt, I took it ever four hours.

I hope it is the same way when I get the rest of the braces put on this Monday.

I'm on my 3rd day in...not as sore anymore. I dont mind the feeling...weirdly i kinda like the feel of the tender gums when i put my teeth together...not so keen on the headaches though!

The braces don't look as bad as i'd imagined, its quite exciting now. Espesh after seeing other peoples results on here :)
