WE HAVE A FACEBOOK PAGE! CHECK IT OUT!

#1 Post by bbsadmin »

OK, please forgive my sad middle-aged dinosaur self. I just created a FaceBook page for ArchWired/DentaKit. I am embarrassed to admit that my 14-year-old daughter will have to help me navigate it until I get the hang of it (Twitter is SO much easier to figure out!) I do not have a personal Facebook account because I just don't have the time for that sort of thing. But it's a good idea to have one for my websites, because more companies are doing it and people expect to find you there. Everyone tells me I should be on Facebook. So I created one for my websites.

The URL is: http://www.facebook.com/pages/DentaKitc ... 6593305291

If you're on Facebook, hopefully you can find me. The page is: "DentaKit.com and ArchWired.com." Come on over and do the things you do with Facebook. Such as LIKING the page. And please forgive any Facebook gaffes I will surely commit as I learn to use it. I mean, this is really embarrassing, me a former technical writer, author of 500-page user guides and esoteric engineering manuals -- and FaceBook makes me break out in a cold sweat!

If you have any suggestions, I'd love to hear them.

I'm sure that some day (hopefully soon) I'll look back at this and laugh.... Lord knows, my daughter is giggling as I write this....maybe I should try to Friend her just to get back at her, LOL.

Oh yeah...and if you come to the Facebook page, you'll see a coupon offer good through Halloween for 15% off.

Great! I'm now going to join/Like your new Facebook page :D

By the way, I am not sure why others are having difficulties, I clicked on the link above and it took me straight to the page no problems.

Seems you have to be logged in to see it. Not up on facebook either but pretty sure you didn't have to be a member to and be logged in to see the pages there before? At this moment doesn't look like you can see anything on facebook unless logged in.

My understanding is that you need to be a member of facebook to see these pages, but I'll check on it. Maybe I need to adjust the settings so that non-members can view it (if possible).

Well I can't see any reason why it isn't showing up. It was showing up for my husband with his FaceBook account.

I think you need to be logged into FaceBook and have an account to access it. If the link doesn't work, then once you're in FaceBook, search on DentaKit or ArchWired and you should be able to find it.

If not, let me know.

I tried it both ways:

(1) I logged into FB first, and then minimized the screen and clicked on your link, where it brought up a new screen with your page on it.

(2) I then logged out, clicked on your link, and was taken to a Login screen, where I had to enter my email and password. After I did that, it took me right to your page.

I think you do have to have a Facebook account in order to see the page.

I tried everything; logged in and logged out, FB search option, different search engines...It always just takes me to the my Fb homepage. :x

But - - I have a theory!!
I'm from Europe, so is Ionika (right?); and we both have problems.
I've asked three of my friends to try the link; the one in Canada got the Archwired page, the other two in Europe/my country Fb homepage, same as me.

It sounds weird, it never happened to me on Fb before, but...Is it possible that it only works in the US?!? :?

I'm in the UK and it works fine for me. Maybe you could ask your friend in Canada to click 'Suggest to Friends' and select your name in their list to invite you to join/like the group.

I cannot understand why it isn't working for some... if you are a member of Facebook and logged in at the time of visiting the link it should work, even if you aren't logged in, it will take you to the log in page then once you enter your details automatically redirect you to the fan page.

Another thing to try, when I typede archwired.com in the search bar at the top, clickd the search icon... for me nothing showed up, but on the left hand side when I clicked on 'Pages' it showed up for me.

OK, I had some "country restrictions" on the account, and I removed them. Should work better now.
