Debanding date set but problems present

#1 Post by diesel »

My ortho made up his mind about the extraction appointment (which is 2 weeks from now) but since the last adjustment i noticed some gaps appeared in my teeth. not huge but enough to get food stuck in them all the time.
He's already made the post braces retainer dates and everything. I really don't want to keep these gaps and would like them fixed while the braces are still on. I don't think a retainer would be effective at closing them either.

I'm in the same position as you. I'm waiting for my retainer to come in, but in the meantime have noticed that a gap of about 1 mm has opened up where I had an extraction gap closed. I'm not sure my retainer would be able to close it...

If you're that concerned, drop by your ortho's office to let him know. I'm just eager to get my braces off, so I'm hoping for the best with the retainer. 8)
