Turbos!

#1 Post by Bracedmom32 »

Does anyone have experience with turbos? I am on day 5 and the lisp they are giving me is driving me nuts. How long does it take to go away? I've gotten used to the feeling of the braces already but the turbos still feel very weird in my mouth - will they ever be less annoying? Thanks!!

I had bite turbos for a couple of months when I started my treatment; it was indeed a nightmare at first (especially with eating!) and I had an annoying lisp too. BUT, it did get easier, and the lisp did eventually go away after a week or so, once I got used to them. Hang in there! :)

I had turbos for 3 months and the lisp does eventually minimize to the point people don't notice. Took maybe a couple weeks for me to get used to talking and maybe another week or two before I really figured out how to eat.. hang in there, they're no fun at all but hopefully things will move quickly and you'll only have to suffer a short while!
