So at my last appoitment they put in the thickest wire to set everything into my bone. My orthdontist told me I'm looking about 3 months to debann and now it's time for me to speak up what type of smile I want.
I began having my braces to fix my overbite and had 4 molar extractions (beside my 4 wisdoms teeths). I can see my overbite problem has been fixed.. other than that I'm not sure what type of smiles I can request or my ortho can give me when things are already almost set in.
Has anybody thought of your smile result you want out of your treatment?
Is there any tips how to describe what you need? This isn't hair style we are talking about.. Any teeth magazine we can look into and pick? I know this is silly but I don't want to look back later and say I wish I could've done this way later with my retainers on.
Almost finishing up and time to decide my look of smile

I'm also curious about what your orthodontist is specifically asking from you at this point, especially with only 3 months to go. The major movement and tooth placement is set and to undo any of that would mean many more months in treatment. The only "fixes" that come to mind are things like bonding to fill in any black triangles and perhaps some minor filing of uneven teeth. I've heard that people even get their canine points filed off. I suppose if you have very minor movements that you feel need to be done that could be accomplished pretty easily---a slight rotation or a tooth pushed a bit higher or lower, etc.
I'm probably in the minority, but personally I'm OK with a little bit of imperfection. I love my pointy canines. I have lots of uneven teeth, especially on the bottom, but to have all my teeth filed to the same level just gives a "too perfect" look. As for black triangles--I do have a few and may end up with more as I reach the final stages and I'm not sure yet what to do about them. I'm leaning towards just leaving them alone unless they become chronic food traps.
No matter what you decide, congratulations on reaching the end. I'm very jealous.

I guess I will need to ask my orthdontinst what she is capable of doing now. Like many of us here feel the same about their own ortho, it is hard to talk to them. They barely talk to you one to two sentences once the treatment begin.TumbleDryLow wrote:I'm also curious about what your orthodontist is specifically asking from you at this point, especially with only 3 months to go. Yes, bone is set I don't think she's asking me if I want my molars to look certain way.. But my front teeth between two canal teeth are still moving inward to fix my overbite. And bottom front teeth are moving. I'm thinking I have choice of how these teeth are angle.. more of straight look or round look. I have no idea if this is mechanically even possible.. Just pocking here and there with my wild idea. K, next week my questions will be busted into my ortho's face and she better give me more than 3 senteneces. My treatment is paid off now, but it doesn't mean her job is done yet!
