Hole in Gum?

#1 Post by BracedVeryLate »

HI all,
haven't posted in a long time. Just waiting for teeth to move....

In the meantime, I developed what looked like a little 'pimple' on the lower side of my gum, between my molar and bicuspid. It burst (not so pleasant) and now I am left with a small pinhole that goes through my gum and leads up between my two teeth.

My ortho, dentist, and oral surgeon said it's the first time they have seen anything like it. It's now like a little pierced earring hole. It's been like this for 4 weeks now. My dentist said it was caused by a little piece of cement that was wedged between the two teeth, so she scraped it all off (thoroughly - ouch!)

My ortho wanted me to have it excised so it would heal over. My surgeon wants to leave it alone. My ortho has taken the band off and the braces on my left side, so my tooth movement on the lowers is somewhat is hold.

Have any of you ever heard of this?

thanks!
