A bracket came off last friday. Is is the bicuspid I wear my crossbite elastic on. I called the Orthos office today as they only work 3-4 days a week and they said they can't get me in till next wednesday which is actually my adjustment day.
I noticed that my tooth already started to try to get back to its original position. Should i try to be more persisntent to get the bracket bonded ASAP? or should I wait till next week? Is it a big deal? I dont want to be a pain to the ortho but it took 4 months to get that tooth out of the crossbite to let it get back to where it was in onyl 2 weeks.
Is a bracket that comes off consider an emergency?

I had one bracket come off on my rear tooth. I accidentally swallowed the bracket during lunch. I didn't realize it until the following day. No biggie.
I just called on Monday and they let me pop in for 10 minutes for a re-glue.
But...I had a bracket removed by the Ortho when he noticed the 'inklings' of a cavity starting under the edge of the bracket. He said that it was no big deal and told me to go to the dentist within a week and get the cavity taken care of, and that he'd glue it on at my next appointment (in 2 weeks!).
Keep in mind this was on the tooth that is next to the rear tooth, so I'm not sure how much bearing it would have had (being removed) over the course of a few weeks. But he didn't seem overly concerned.
However, I was concerned enough that I told my dentist I was coming in immediately. I gave them no choice and I'm sure they loved me for that. They fixed me and I drove back across town right back to the orthodontist. They were amazed to see me walk back in, glued on a new bracket and I was on my way.
